Franklin County constituent Nov. 17th Swanton Wind vote up to us. Protect the ridgelines

Saint Albans Messenger; November 14, 2015

Come one come all to make your voices heard! This vote will effect all of us. We need to show that we should have a say in what happens to us.

Currently three people on the Public Service Board will be making this decision for our communities.

Vermont is known for our town meeting democracy. It is beyond belief that such a decision is made without the regard of our vote.

Before we continue to build these Industrial Wind Turbines taller than many skyscrapers, with blade tips that often spin in excess of 100 miles per hour, we should pause to examine what we already know about the affects of these monstrosities.

The lengthy and growing list is evidence of why these giant, moving machines do not belong anywhere near where people live.

Developing renewable energy sources is important. But right now our current policies regarding industrial wind turbines are not in our best interest. Our lives matter, not to mention our environment and habitat, to mention a few… “Destroying our environment to save our environment” is not the Vermont Way. We need to find a better approach other than destroying all of Vermont’s ridgelines. Yes! This will be in everyone’s backyard if we don’t stop this madness.

Thank You,
Paula Pearsall,
